Manchester Monorail
[The future is approximately 20 feet above us]

Nothing else represents our vision of what future technology may bring, better than the monorail, except perhaps flying cars and the concept of holidaying on the Moon. How many images of the future have included these engineering triumphs? Quite a few. "Logans Run" had them. I'm pretty sure I have seen them in episodes of "Star Trek" and other stuff like that. And if "Knight Rider" had been about a fixed route public transport system you just know Kit wouldn't have been a trolleybus. Lets face it who wouldn't want to wooooossssh around (thats how exciting it is to travel on one) at roughly 20 feet above the rest of the world, sipping coffee from silver space-beakers and talking to people using your wrist based video communication system?

But when will the future arrive? We feel that successive governments have neglected monorails in favour of less futuristic technology such as cars (ground based) and buses. The tireless campaigners of Manchester Monorail will not rest until the centre of Oxford road is home to the kind of single track, elevated transport system that Flash Gordon would have used had he lived and worked in the Manchester metropolitan area.

Pledge your support, simply by completing the questionnaire below and remember; the future is bright, the future is elevated roughly 20 feet above us, has automatic doors and may even be driverless.
