Kolawole Babalola

Intro

Hello, I am Kola Babalola and you are welcome to my homepage.

I am a research associate at the department of Imaging Science and Biomedical Engineering of the University of Mancheter. I completed my PhD in this department in 2004. My PhD work was aimed at building a three dimensional point distribution model of the lateral ventricles for shape analysis using a control group and a schizophrenic group. You can download a copy of my thesis to find out more (unfortunately it is quite large 42MB and I haven't got round to trimming it so be warned)

My first post-doctoral position here was after my PhD. and involved research as part of the Integrated Brain Image Modelling (IBIM) project. This was a collaboration between the University of Manchester, University of Oxford, Imperial College London, and University College London. The aim was to produce a system for analysing structural brain images which will aid segmentation of brain substructures and quantification of how different brain structures relate to each other, in relative size, position and shape.

I am on my second post-doc which is a continuation of working with Active Appearance Models and their application to automated segmentation in 3D. In particular we have already looked at automated initialisation, and post-processing to improve segmentation results. We also hope to look at improving the actual search mechanism of the AAMs.
